A small group of like minded people got together, and created what is now the Peterborough Festival of Wheels, formerly Peterborough Classic & Vintage Vehicle Festival. 2019 was our first year, as we hosted the event at Peterborough Lions Rugby Club, where we also put on some evening entertainment on the Saturday in the form of a 'Rockabilly Night', where people danced to the amazing sounds of the HiBoy Trio.
The event would not have been possible without the amazing team who work tirelessly to ensure the site was prepared and all the necessary areas were sorted from waste removal to traders and exhibitors.
Peterborough Festival of Wheels is open to all vehicles, as our motto says "Where Theres a Wheel, Theres a Way". Our 2021 event is set to be bigger and better. All vehicles will be separated, dependent on age etc, with competitions for Best in Show, Best Motorcycle in Show, Best Club Display, plus more. We have also included a Charity Dog Show on Sunday 22nd August, with all proceeds from the dog show going to Three Counties Dog Rescue.
Peterborough Festival of Wheels 2021 is being held at Peterborough Lions Rugby Club, Bretton, Peterborough, PE3 8ED. The beauty of this venue is that it is fully enclosed, and is easily accessible from the A47 and all major routes.
Another event run locally was axed by the organisers, so our team took on the task of keeping an event alive in Peterborough. We started in 2019 with the event being popular with a host of classic & vintage vehicles, however we soon realised we had missed a huge car owner audience, and so made the decision to make Peterborough Festival of Wheels 2021 open to all vehicles.
For our 2020 event we have chosen 2 very worthy charities SERV Cambridgeshire & Suffolk and Bike Tours for the Wounded. More information about our charities can be found by clicking here.
The event team are all volunteers and give up their time for free to help organise the event, along with a huge number of organisations who lend their support throughout the weekend.
For our 2021 event we have decided to move the event to help with the gradual release of lock-down restrictions. We have therefore moved this years event to Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August 2021. We have made this decision so as not to class with another major event happening in Peterborough over August Bank Holiday.
Our main event will be open to the public from 9am to 6pm. Entry is suggested donation of £2 per adult, with children entering for free. Starting on the Friday night with a chilled Quiz and Curry Night, hosted in the clubhouse at Peterborough Lions Rugby Club. We will open to the public for the main event 9am on Saturday & Sunday.
We will also be running a programme of evening entertainment starting on Friday 20th with a Quiz and Curry night, followed by a Rock 'N' Roll night on Saturday. To bring our programme of evening entertainment to an end on Sunday evening we are hosting the PBFOW Charity MusicFest, with our headline act being announced shortly.
